Magdalena A. Golden Photography

When I was starting this blog over a year ago, I set a goal for myself of publishing at least one (and preferably two) posts a month. So far I haven't missed a month but it looked like this August might be the first time it happens. I have tons of pictures I would like to share but no time to postprocess them and since to me processing is a vital part of photography I thought I'd rather skip a month than share something I'm not happy with.

BUT it was just brought to my attention that today we're celebrating the 5th Blog Day (or the 7th ;) all the links there mention 2010 but who cares... it's supposed to be annual, right? ;) ) the idea of which is that "bloggers from all over the world will post recommendations of 5 new Blogs, preferably Blogs that are different from their own culture, point of view and attitude". I figured since I already have a Links page on my blog I might as well elaborate a bit more on some of my favourite blogs, especially since that page needs updating anyway :)

So here are the links to five blogs I would like to share. I tried to make the list as varied as I could :)

Me and my itchy feet - a travel blog written in English by a Polish gal. Currently she's on a trip to Germany with her family so it's being updated daily and is a lot of fun to read. I really like that she's writing in English because there is also a good number of posts about things to visit in Poland - it's a very good resource if you're thinking of visiting this part of Europe :)
Not Exactly Rocket Science - this is exactly how science should be communicated to the public. Well-researched articles, straightforward explanations and, importantly, no exaggerated claims. The latter is my pet peeve when it comes to science reporting. Just yesterday one of the major Polish newspapers, when reporting on this article from Nature wrote on their Facebook page that the conclusion is that "gluttony does not shorten your life after all". It just hurts me inside when I see things like that... so, anyway, no such issues on NERS and it's one of the reasons why I love it :) :)
Your TA Hates You - speaking of science... :> Well, this blog hasn't been updated for over four months now but if you're doing a PhD and teaching undergraduates is part of your job then going through the archive will make you chuckle ;) For my part, I actually absolutely love teaching students but I do admit that sometimes the experience borders on surreal ;)
A Polish Addict - my guilty pleasure :) As a nail polish hoarder I find it comforting that others do the same ;) When I started painting my nails regularly I was actually very surprised to discover how many blogs about polish there are! Since, as I said, I'm trying to keep the list varied I wanted to include only one and it's quite a tough choice really! I've decided on singling this blog out due to its high photography standard :)
Anna Kuperberg - oh, photography, right? The toughest blog choice... I've decided to go with a blog that I haven't added on my Links page yet. Anna Kuperberg is one of world's most acclaimed wedding photographers. I love her style, especially her composition!
