Taos, NM

I visited Taos in New Mexico in January but only now got around sorting pictures and starting postprocessing. While I usually do not fuss too much with postprocessing, I've noticed that it's the sorting and choosing that really slows me down a lot. My first SLR, ages ago, was an analogue Minolta and, as Scott Kelby aptly put it in one of his books, the problem with analogue is that every time you press the shutter, you hear in your head a little "ka-ching!" as it costs to pay for film and development. Well, I am very happy those days are over and I can fully use the potential of my digital Canon's 6.3 fps as well as take a couple of shots of the same thing from different perspectives without worrying about costs. However, you know you went a bit overboard if you shoot over 2000 pictures in about a week... which is quite something considering that my primary purpose for travelling to Taos was to attend a conference, so sightseeing and picture-taking was just a side thing...

Anyhow, as I said, I started to go through everything and choose my favourites so I'm sharing the first bit that I took around Sagebrush Inn where the conference took place and around Taos. Stay tuned for more! :)

Odwiedziłam Taos w stanie Nowy Meksyk w styczniu, ale dopiero teraz zabrałam się za wybieranie zdjęć i posprocessing. Pomimo, iż postprocessing nie zajmuje mi specjalnie dużo czasu, wybieranie jest często męką. Moją pierwszą lustrzanką dobrych parę lat temu była analogowa Minolta i ze względu na koszt filmu i wywołania zawsze zastanawiałam się milion razy przed każdym zdjęciem czy na pewno jest tego warte. Cóż, zdecydowanie nie tęsknię do tych czasów i uwielbiam fakt, że mogę wykorzystywać w pełni continuous drive mojego cyfrowego Canona jak i robić zdjęcia z różnych perspektyw i eksperymentować, ale wybieranie najlepszych zdjęć jest udręką. Szczególnie przy continuous drive... zawsze się zdarzą dwa bardzo podobne ujęcia różniące się bardzo nieznacznie i nie mogę się zdecydować, które jest lepsze... bywa że ene-due-rike-fake staje się najlepszym rozwiązaniem ;)

W każdym razie - oto kilka pierwszych zdjęć z Taos, zrobionych w samej miejscowości oraz w hotelu, w którym odbywała się konferencja, z powodu której to miasto odwiedziłam. Więcej w następnych postach :)
